Canadian Research Network for Adult Congenital Heart Disease Interventions
Peer Review
Process and Timelines
Members must send their proposal at least 2 months in advance of the granting agency deadline to the Clinical and Scientific Chairs who will arrange a peer-review by at least two other network members (potentially including a review by patient partners and a methodologist if relevant) not directly involved with the grant. The individual submitting the request will receive anonymized copies of the review comments within four weeks of submission. A letter of endorsement by CRN-ACHDi can be requested, if the network agrees it is merited.

Informal Review Events
Members are invited to present their research or proposal in development to network members at an annual meeting. Presenters will have 5-7 minutes to present their research and list the areas where they are looking for feedback or present a list of questions to the group. After the presentation, there will be 30 minutes for discussion where presenters will receive feedback. Presenters will receive a copy of the comments and suggestions after the meeting.
Additional Research Support
The network may help individuals with grant development and applications by providing writing and editing support, helping with budget development, providing support for application administration, identifying potential collaborators, etc. Senior members may help with clinical trial design by providing support services such as giving advice in designing and running clinical trials, providing methodological support, identifying site contacts for multi-site studies, facilitating a panel to review a trial protocol, etc.
