Network members act as “Mentors” and accept trainees

The network will provide a list of network members who are willing to act as mentors and facilitate the matching of mentors looking for a trainee with trainees looking for a mentor

Mentors act as supervisors for trainees and assist them with their research project

Mentors also support trainees in their career and research goals by offering guidance and advice

The network provide trainees with the ability to use data and support resources that the network has collected
Research and Networking Events

Events to promote research education
-
Events will consist of talks geared to trainees from network members on research-related topics such as: career planning, how to write a grant and manuscript, the role of the Research Ethics Board, interest-specific topics, etc.

Trainees will present their research projects and receive feedback from members. Feedback will target areas such as methodology, statistics, patient recruitment, etc

Presentations may be done in a competition setting where trainees can receive a prize/grant

Events will allow trainees to network with each other and experts in numerous disciplines

The network will provide educational opportunities and resources to trainees

The network will provide trainees with a broad overview of knowledge and issues, and research methods

The network will provide trainees with tools on how to be better communicators, managers, scholars, and professionals
